For this project, I wrote letters to the Federal Bureau of Investigation to receive my personal FBI file. Once I received my file, I decided to make it available to anyone to subvert the government’s attempt to monitor my existence. Also, the viewer’s interactions with my classified files are being videotaped from a security camera strategically placed on one of the gallery walls. The camera will then further heighten the viewer’s sense of being watched. Furthermore, the camera acts as the signifier that one will never be able to completely break from this system of classification and monitoring. The vicious cycle is doomed to forever repeat itself.
