For this project, I wanted to create a means for me to better understand my family. The dictionary has specific definitions for what it means to be a father, mother, brother, and sister, but these definitions are incredibly ill-defined. Therefore, I decided to set up my own means for properly defining the members of my family. I began by having each member of my family write out his or her dictionary definition. For instance, I had my father write out the definition of father, my mother write out the definition of mother etc. I then had their hand-written definitions sent to a handwriting analyst to be analyzed. Once I received the results, I took the major points from each analysis to display beside the original definition. I displayed each definition and analysis in window-like shutters I constructed to represent home and family.
