For this project, I wanted to bring the popular childhood game “Battleship” to life. I decided to float and sink some of the battleships from the game in a recreational lake. I did this to take the battleships out of the child-like fantasy world and bring them into real dire circumstances. It troubles me that children are taught and encouraged to play games that involve human circumstances they aren’t equipped to comprehend. Unfortunately, children will keep playing “War” and “Battleship”, but perhaps this photograph will bring to light some of the horrors such games thoughtlessly embrace.
